Eat that Frog with a Pomodoro. GO!

I work in a college as a lecturer. The HR dropped a bomb on me on Tuesday informing that BSc Honors students are going to attend their practical classes on campus and not online anymore. I always freak-out in such situations alongside getting mini heart attacks because I doing tasks at the 11th hour isn’t my thing!

I had to increase my efficiency and productivity so I thought about using this Pomodoro technique for this task. I sat down in a peaceful room with all my stuff, inhaled deeply and exhaled, told myself I CAN DO IT!, set a few alarms. I was good to go :)

I have OCD so I had to set a few major and a few minor alarms before starting my work i.e. Major Alarm 1: 10:00–10:25, and minor alarm 1: 10:25- 10:30. Similarly, I set 4 pairs of these alarms. I repeated this step after the long break because I had a very lengthy task to complete.

1 tick after every major alarm went off.

This experiment turned out to be very helpful and I find no difficulty doing it. I am an organizer so I already love doing such things like planning out things beforehand and tracking time. Achieving the goal within a set amount of time is literally like a cherry on top.

Listing down things and a bit of planning always help you accomplish more than just jumping into stuff and doing it haphazardly. So yes, this technique was an addition to my planning techniques and it helped me accomplish more in less time. Throughout the task, I wanted those 5 minutes to end quickly so I can get back to work :P

This technique is doing down in my diary. I have decided that whenever I have to work under pressure, I will be using this technique. When doing this experiment, you would need a very peaceful working environment with minimum distractions. Always think about rewarding yourself if you achieve your goal in time!

Time for the Great Revelation!

The rough estimate for accomplishing my task was 5 hours but I completed it in 4 hours! *Happy Dances* :D

Reward Timeee!! So I watched 2 episodes of Brooklyn 99. IT MADE ME SO HAPPY! :D

P.S We should always try to make ourselves happy because everyone else is busy making themselves happy :P :D
